Aloha Everyone! Just today I saw the news that Southwest is most likely including Hilo as a destination in its Hawaii service. I live in Hilo and my family is in San Diego. To hear that Southwest was going to start flights to Hawaii was amazing enough, but the chance that there could even be just one inter-island flight on Southwest, let alone a possible direct flight to California, has left me speechless with joy. The possibility that Southwest may fly to Hilo is not only great news for residents but also a boon to our economy by giving residents and visitors alike more options and hopefully cheaper fares with healthy competition. If that blue, red and gold bird ever lands at ITO I for one will be one of the first people buying a ticket and I'm pretty sure other Hiloans will be right behind me. Mahalo
