Thanks for finding the article @bec102896 The quote from Southwest is pretty clear, no timeframe and in Southwest IT land that could mean years. "that while we don’t have a timeframe to share, Southwest is currently investigating solutions and the technical requirements needed to provide our Customers non-binary gender marker options during the booking process." --TheMiddleSeat

I have no idea. From reading other people's experiences posted here in the Community it sounds like sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's a long time, and sometimes it's no call at all. --TheMiddleSeat

I suspect that if your contact information associated with your dashboard account is now correct and the application you submitted is also associated with your account then you're good to go. Hope you hear good news soon. --TheMiddleSeat

You can ask your question in any section, most of us regulars will see it and chime in if we're able to help. As suggested, it doesn't hurt to ask Southwest directly too. I have heard rumors of the Community's sections changing, adding a tech support area could be a good idea if that happens. --TheMiddleSeat

As you've learned the hard way, EBCI is non refundable when you cancel a flight. An alternative to canceling your flight is to change it to some other future flight, even one you just book as a placeholder until you finalize your travel plans. When you change flights instead of canceling EBCI stays on the reservation. --TheMiddleSeat

The 125,000 points required are Companion Pass qualifying points earned and credited to your Rapid Rewards account from any earning source. Remember, you earn points from many activities, including actually flying, so earning is not limited to just one credit card. --TheMiddleSeat

I can't think of any reason these would not be allowed. Have a great flight! --TheMiddleSeat

Nope, no reversing, points are posted in 2019 and that's the end of the story. By rushing and attempting to hurry up when you earned CP you basically ruined your chance. Did your statement(s) total more than $5k? I didn't think they would calculate your total spend midway through a statement, but that's certainly possible, activating the bonus once spending hit the $5k threshold. --TheMiddleSeat

Elf continues to be one of my favorite holiday movies, still makes me laugh every time. I'll tell you what you shouldn't do... Don't download the 3.5hour Netflix film The Irishman. So slow and uninteresting and will make your flight feel so much longer. Have a great time back home! --TheMiddleSeat

A C boarding position with EBCI seems very unusual. How many days before the flight did you purchase EarlyBird? Do you still have your paper boarding pass which would indicate the EarlyBird was actually applied to the reservation? --TheMiddleSeat

While @dfwskier is correct, I've never understood the need to rush, worry, and potentially screw up Companion Pass qualification. When you already have the 2020 pass there's no need to rush since the 2021 pass can be earned anytime in 2020 and doing it sooner in the year has absolutely zero benefit over doing it in December. A bonus from a new credit card may be need to be earned within a certain period of time after applying, but there is usually a couple of months. --TheMiddleSeat

If I understand correctly, you have charges that posted on 12/4, but because they posted after your December statement date they will have a January end of statement date? In that case the points will not qualify for 2019 earnings and you will be short of earning Companion Pass. As it's up to Chase as to when they inform Southwest of the earnings, there's really nothing Southwest can do. It's time to work on plan B, last minute Business Select flights, hotel stays, and shopping through the Southwest Shopping portal would be good places to start. Good luck! --TheMiddleSeat

Lol, unless you have status with another airline or pay for refundable tickets it sounds like you'll never be flying again. Change fees on standard tickets (the equivalent of Wanna Get Away) would eat up the entire ticket cost that you feel should be refunded. At least with Southwest the credit can be used up to a year later, yes it is limited to the same passenger. If you need more flexibility there's Anytime and Business Select fares that offer the ability to cancel and get your cash back. You can read more about different fares and refundability here: https://www.southwest.com/html/air/fare-information.html --TheMiddleSeat

Did you not check-in before going to the airport? Boarding position is based on when you check-in, not based on purchase date, so checking in 24 hours prior to your flight's departure is fairly important and results in almost always being able to sit together with the rest of your group. Showing up to the aiport without checking in will result in you getting the worst possible boarding position, and as you experienced, you may be separated from the rest of your group. Yes, it's different from a lot of other airlines, but if you take a little time to learn about how it works, it's actually a very efficient system. I understand It's not for everyone though so paying more for an assigned seat on another airline is always an option. --TheMiddleSeat

I've never heard Southwest paying out any reimbursement at the airport, it's always a matter of saving receipts for essential items that must be purchased immediately such as a toothbrush and perhaps a change of clothes, then submitting a claim for reimbursement of those expenses. Southwest's contract of carriage does limit their liability to $3500 unless you declare and purchase coverage for extra value. I do not see any indication of reimbursement for purchasing essentials counting against the $3500 limit, but again, that reimbursement is for essential purchases, not an additional $1500 worth of stuff that you would like to replace. --TheMiddleSeat

You should be able to request a boarding pass from the gate agent, just tell them you want to exit and return back through security. Shouldn't be a big deal. Using the through pass to board will probably get you a better boarding position, assuming they board throughs before newly boarding passengers. If you are issued a boarding pass its position will probably be pretty awful. --TheMiddleSeat

Person B must have their own Rapid Rewards account and that number must have been added to reservation during purchase. If you forgot to put the number in during the purchase process you can contact Southwest to add the number to the reservation. Then person B can log into their Rapid Rewards account and see the flight they are booked on, regardless of who purchased it. --TheMiddleSeat

Each person must log in to see their own boarding pass, person A cannot see person B's boarding pass, and vice-versa. Are you saying that person A logged out and person B logged in and could not see their own boarding pass? You double checked you did not accidentally log back in as person A? Ideally each person has their own mobile device for this to work smoothly, but should work if you go through the trouble of logging out and back in. --TheMiddleSeat

My guess is the person you originally spoke with did not understand the length of time you would be unable to fly and figured since Southwest allows you to use travel funds from a canceled reservation up to a year after you originally made the purchase, that would be enough time for you to use the funds. You didn't specify the original date of purchase, but it does sound like it was several years ago. Without some exception to the rules those funds are expired, as you have found out. It's worth writing to Southwest about, but I wouldn't count on the funds being reinstated. --TheMiddleSeat
