Asking for a friend.. No, really. I am actually asking for a friend.
My friend has an Android phone (Samsung; not sure of model). When trying to update the SWA app, he got a message saying something like, "We're taking this app to the hangar." I was able to install and login on both my Android and iOS devices without a problem.
Any hints on what happened?
TIA,
misshollie.

I would guess your friend's phone has an old version of Android that is no longer supported by the Southwest app.

Agree.
Apparently there is enough difference between the various OS versions that it would be very difficult to support them all. So SW doesn't try. The last time I looked, it appeared that the app runs on about 95% of the newest OS versions, and does not on the remaining - older - versions.

My LG phone had the same issue (before LG crashed) my phone was no longer supported. They quit supporting certain android versions.
the best bet is to use the mobile site on southwest.com
